Eco house

Eco house:

The Soil:

The soil is a great insulator. This helps lower amount of fossil fuels being burned in order to create enough energy to keep the house warm. This also acts as a natural air filtration system for nearby CO2 caused by nearby cars, factories and so on. The house being underground will cause it to be a bit dark but that problem with me solved using solar panels.

Solar Panels:

Because the house is underground, there will be a large amount of light needed for the house. Without the solar panels to help light the house the amount of electricity used will be the same if not more the original use, with or without the soil to insulate.

Light Tunnels:

This is my own creation. There will be holes located around the house, not to big and not to small. There will be a tunnel from the hole to the house. The inside of the tunnel will be covered in tin foil or some other reflective metal. The metal will reflect the light entering the tunnel and will enter the house helping to light the house and it is completely eco friendly because it takes no electricity.

Overall:

We don't necessarily 'need' this but this is a very innovative and interesting looking way to help us live in a sustainable environment. The material in this building would mostly cement and bricks just like a regular house but it will be underground. The material that is used for the house doesn't really matter because the main form of insulation is the ground so the only material needed is material that will stop the soil from breaking in and also stop the nearby trees to grow roots that start breaking the house.  This building can not be built on soft ground for the danger of sinking depending on how big it is. This house can be used anywhere. It will stop heat getting out for cool places like UK, and stops heat from getting in for warm places like Malaysia. This isn't supposed to replace skyscrapers because if you look at my city of the future you will see the skyscrapers can be eco-friendly. It is mostly for residential use like a bungalo underground.

  1. Another great example of your creativity and imagination Danny :D Why do we need houses like this? What kind of materials would you use to build the house? Why? What kind of environment would this house be most efficiently built in? Why?
